Ebay to Begin Advertising Campaign

The online retailer and aution biz is aiming to boost its standing as a holiday shopping destination with the launch of a new marketing campaign.
The ad push features the tagline "Come to think of it, eBay." The campaign follows a two-year effort by the online auctions pioneer to turn around its slumping marketplace. The campaign will include print, online and TV ads and will run through Christmas. The ads were created by Omnicom’s Goodby, Silverstein & Partners. The new campaign is intended "to shift the buyer perception of what eBay is today," said Lorrie Norrington, president eBay’s marketplace operations. Featuring high-end products such as designer dresses, the campaign "focuses on new products...and I think people don’t think of that" when they think of eBay, said the creative director at Goodby in charge of the ads.
