Anonymous User Information Collection and Use

Cookies. To provide effective and meaningful personalization services to our customers and in turn their users, we use "cookies" - small data files that contain a string of characters, including an anonymous unique browser identifier - that are sent to a user's computer browser from our servers when our personalization services are accessed. Cookies enable us to "remember" a user, to store user preferences, and to track user trends. Importantly, we use cookies to improve the quality of the personalization services we offer and to better understand how users interact with our services. We do not and cannot use cookies to retrieve individual personally identifiable information about a user. Further, the cookie technology we use cannot obtain information from a user's hard drive or pass on a computer virus.

Choices about Cookies. Most browsers are set up to accept cookies. If you prefer not to receive cookies, you can set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies and refuse the cookie when you are alerted to its presence. Or, you can also refuse all cookies by turning them off in your browser. However, if you disable the use of cookies in your web browser, some features of our personalization services may not operate optimally or properly. Finally, at any time you can delete cookies from your browser.

Log Information. When a user accesses our personalization services, our servers automatically record information that a user's browser sends. These server logs include information such as Internet Protocol address (a unique number that is automatically assigned to a user's computer), the date and time of use of personalization services, one or more cookies that may uniquely identify a user's browser, type of browser being used, and interactions with our services. We do not collect any unique information about a user (such as a user's name, e-mail address, etc.).

Information Security

We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of our data collection, storage, and processing practices and security measures. Our servers are protected by firewalls and are physically located in secure data facilities to further increase security.

Information Sharing

We may share aggregated, non-personal, general information, such as how users interact with our personalization services, for example, or how may users clicked on a particular recommendation or the average rating of a movie or music title. This information does not identify you individually and cannot be used to contact you.

Information Gathering by ChoiceStream Customers

Customers use our personalization services to enhance their websites, services, and related offerings. These sites may place their own cookies on your computer, collect data, or solicit personal information. For more information about information collection and use by these customers, please refer to their privacy policies.

Sale of Assets

In the event that another company acquires all or substantially all of the assets related to the business of ChoiceStream, we reserve the right to include any or all stored customer information and anonymous user information among the assets transferred to the acquiring company.

Correspondence

If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence and we may collect your email address.

P3P Policy

ChoiceStream also subscribes to a P3P policy, which may be viewed in plain text by accessing the "Privacy Report" in your browser. To the extent that there is any inconsistency between the machine-readable P3P policy and this Privacy Policy, this Privacy Policy governs.
